Duties of an artist manager simplified and explained

Most artists misconstrue artist management to mean sponsorship or a recording deal. It is NEVER the case. Artist management is not sponsorship. There's a big difference between artist management and recording deal.
It is not the duty of the artist manager to invest his personal resources in promoting the artist. In the real sense, the job of the artist manager is to GUIDE the artist to achieve the above mentioned goals. So, the job of the artist manager is: 1 To GUIDE the artist on releasing and promoting music professionally.
Whereas the artist manager is obligated to:
1 Protect the interest of the artist
2 Develop and grow the artist
3 Seek new opportunities for the artist
