The National Identity Number (NIN) is an eleven-digit unique number assigned to everyone who registered for National ID Card. Before now, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has informed Nigerians to provide their NIN for SIM card upgrade, as those who failed to do so will have their lines (SIM card) blocked.
On the 14th of December 2020, the minister of Communications and Digital Economy (CDE) Dr. Isa A.I, had a meeting with all related bodies, concerning the linkage of NIN to SIM Cards. He further instructed the stoppage of new SIM registration in the country.
From the briefing, the given conclusions were drawn;
1. The termination of new simple card.
2. Compulsory record update on all sim.
3. Users mandatory submission of NIN number within two weeks, starting from the day this decision was made. <div align="center" style="margin-top:10px; position:relative; bottom:10px;"> <script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-2676590700924448" crossorigin="anonymous"></script> <!-- Footer display --> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block" data-ad-client="ca-pub-2676590700924448" data-ad-slot="2082787951" data-ad-format="auto"></ins> <script> (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); </script> </div>
