just e “Vero… She’s not one to hold her tongue, and it sounds as
if Masika Kalysha is lashing out in the studio. The
multihyphenate entertainer and businesswoman has
been steadily working on her rap career for years.
Masika unleashed “ Masether,” a single where she
spits a barrage of bars at Tory Lanez, a response
to him mentioning her in his track “Sorry I Had To.”
Lanez included a number of entertainers who spoke
out against him while also praising Kylie Jenner.
On “ Masether ,” Masika stated that she decided to
bite back at the Canadian artist because he
mentioned her daughter, Khari, in his lyrics. There
are all sorts of allegations strewn throughout the
track, so you’ll just have to press play to get your
fill.
The Shade Room reposted Masika’s artwork and
music, so Tory jumped in the comments to make
fun of her. “Not the thunder in the artwork hitting
with the drop off,” he wrote with laughing emojis. “FOREIGN SONGS… Another day, another milestone hit by Eminem . This time, we’re looking at the seven-year anniversary of The Marshall Mathers LP 2, one of the most divisive albums of his career. For one, it found Em moving further away from the foundation he built alongside Dr. Dre, instead working with the legendary Rick Rubin, who brought a rock-inspired sensibility to the project. While Rubin’s production remains a point of contention for some of Em’s fanbase, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 wasn’t entirely a departure, with songs like the conclusive “Evil Twin” serving as a bloody reminder of Slim Shady’s villainy. A near-six minute clinic of nonstop bars — essentially a darker companion track of the legendary “Rap God” — “ Evil Twin” provides Slim with a slow-burning and menacing instrumental from Sid Roams. Matching the beat’s pace, Em delivers a methodical flow with space for the myriad punchlines to land. Calling back to some of his vintage lyrical content, Em effortlessly weaves between rhyme schemes as he puts his cleverness on display. “FOREIGN SONGS… Today is a very special day in the career of Kanye West as it marks the 10-year anniversary of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy . In the eyes of many, this is Kanye’s magnum opus and could very well be considered to be the greatest album of all- time. From start to finish, Kanye provided fans with a stunningly gorgeous soundscape that featured a plethora of talented artists, record producers, and engineers. Of course, the album has some undeniable standouts like “Monster,” “All Of The Lights,” “Gorgeous,” “Runaway,” and, of course, “Devil In A New Dress” with Rick Ross. From the heavenly vocal samples to the braggadocios bars, Kanye was at his absolute best on this track. Rick Ross’s contribution to the song is just as incredible, especially when you consider how Ye actually forced Ross to re-write the verse. This turned out to be an amazing decision as “Devil In A Dress” arguably contains the best verse of Ross’s illustrious career. “FOREIGN SONGS… There’s no denying the narrative that Nas ‘ fourth studio album Nastradamus is widely considered to be the low point of his otherwise acclaimed career. Released on the heels of the back-to-back run that was Illmatic, It Was Written, and I Am… Some might have argued that Nas was destined to stumble on the basis of pressure alone. Not only that, but the soundscape was in the process of shifting, with several New York emcees steadily experimenting with a more commercial production aesthetic. The transition proved difficult for the acclaimed lyricist, who occasionally found himself stumbling over some downright strange production choices. Yet that’s not to say the mark was altogether missed, as an emcee of Nas’ caliber seldom strikes out without connecting at least once or twice. Unsurprisingly, one of the highlights arose on “Come Get Me,” a reunion with the legendary DJ Premier . “FOREIGN SONGS… Housed on Yemi Alade’ s praised fifth studio
album “Empress”, is the single “Deceive”
featuring Rudeboy (Paul Okoye of P-Square).
Produced by Jimmy Huru , Vtek , and Egar Boi ,
the infectious and magnificent melodious afro-
pop duet sees Ms. Alade and Paul flirt to birth
an ear-worm tune.
