The suspects, identified as 25-year-old
Kamoru Mustapha and 26-year-old Mubarak
Idris, were reportedly caught in the act while
attempting to cart away the stolen cables.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on
Saturday by the state commander of So-Safe
Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the
Director of Information and Public Relations,
Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.
“The suspects, who are known scavengers,
were caught red-handed in a bush while
stealing aluminum cable wires,” the statement
read.
He added that the suspects, along with the
recovered stolen items, have been handed
over to the Ogun State Command of the
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at
Dekudu Village, along Kobape Road, Abeokuta,
for further investigation and possible
prosecution.

Corps arests two
for cable theft in Ogun
According to Ganzallo, the duo was
apprehended around 5 a.m. on March 29,
2025, during a routine patrol by So-Safe Corps
operatives.
I Ganzallo further revealed that during a
preliminary investigation, the suspects
confessed to the crime.
