A chieftain of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) in Osun State, Biyi
Odunlade, on Saturday escaped a
suspected assassination attempt.
DAILY POST gathered that gunmen
attacked the residence of the former
Commissioner for Youths, Sports and
Special Needs in the Rauf Aregbesola
administration around 8pm and
succeeded in vandalising his house
and cars while also looting his wife’s
shop, carting away valuables and
cash.
Odunlade disclosed that the armed
men arrived at about 8:15 pm and
harassed his wife, who immediately
locked herself in her room for safety,
and their house help.
He added that
they went away with the keys to his
wife’s shop. He explained that the
men wielding dangerous weapons
arrived in two cars, including a white
jeep. “They forced the gate open,
shooting sporadically into the air and
shouting ‘where is Biyi Odunlade?’.
I had just stepped out of my
residence,” Odunlade said. DAILY
POST recalls that the Chairman of The
Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus of
the Osun APC, Adelowo Adebiyi, had
alleged that forces in the government
and IleriOluwa, a group loyal to
Governor Gboyega Oyetola, was
plotting to assassinate some of their
members especially its leadership.
