The controversial Nigerian singer, Naira
Marley has reversed his proposed decision
to lead a peaceful protest which is
supposed to hold on Tuesday 6th of
October 2020. The protest which is to
make the government listen to its citizen
regarding the animalistic act of the
operatives of the special anti-robbery
squad.
the soapy crooner, took to his official
twitter account to reveal the cancelation of
the earlier scheduled protest.
In his words, he said;
“WE WON’T BE PROTESTING ANYMORE
BECAUSE THERE’S A LOT OF CHANGES
BEING MADE RIGHT NOW.
“AS A MARLIAN WE WILL GIVE THEM A
WEEK TO SEE THE CHANGES AND IF
THERE’S NO CHANGES WE WILL START A
MASS PROTEST. #TOGETHERWECAN,” HE
TWEETED.
He further added that:
“THE PROTEST WAS A CRY FOR CHANGE,
NIGERIAN YOUTHS AND CITIZENS SHOULD
FEEL SAFE. THE GOVERNMENT HAVE
PROMISED TO MAKE CHANGES. WHILST
WE ANTICIPATE THEIR ACTIONS IT’S
IMPORTANT WE STICK TOGETHER TO SORT
THE ISSUES ON GROUND,
#ENDSARSBRUTALITY
#ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY.”
It will be recalled, the Marlian record label
boss as of Monday took to social media to
announced the proposed peaceful protest
in Lagos.
